Biographical Sketch

 
I was born in Gonbad, Iran in 1960 and later moved to Mashad, Iran where I graduated from Alavi High School in 1977.  I moved to United States in 1977 and attended Gannon University in Erie, PA for 1 year. Subsequently, I moved to Buffalo, NY and studied at the University of Buffalo (SUNY) until 1988.

I received a B.S. degree in 1982, an M.S. degree in 1984, and a Ph.D. in 1988 from Mechanical and  Aerospace Engineering Department at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

I started working in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Villanova University following my graduation in 1988 as an Assistant Professor. I was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 1995 and  to Professor in 2004.

I have worked with and for several companies and government institutions. These include the following:

I am married to my wife Mojeh and have one son, Ashkon, who was born on October, 14 1998. He is a very skilled piano and soccer player. I also love playing and watching soccer!
